Pilot Programs beginning with administrators, counselors, teachers, then students will add Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Restorative Circles Practices to its discipline choices! A 3-year Federal grant is supporting this county's "Anti-Bullying Campaign" efforts by funding trainings. The curriculum being co-developed and put into practice is founded in the long-standing NVC models, developed and documented highly successful life-work of Marshall Rosenberg, PhD.  These Restorative Practices tools and techniques are scheduled to roll-out all through 2001-2012 school year with plans for 2012-14 support resulting in a self-sustaining system-wide program.  From professional adult and peer mentor student trainings, to on-site relevant issue custom trainings, to coaching through difficult issues that may arise, RCPS and Civil Services LLC are building something unique. If you are interested in seeing this innovative pilot program evolve, contact Linda@CivilServices.us.

Below are some photos of this summer's initial Restorative Circles co-trainings with RCPS counselors, and coaches, social workers, P&I - Prevention & Intervention specialists and staff learning about the underlying triggers to violence.  The initial trainings hit home personally for many training attendees, who say their own lives have been changed by the dynamics of the traing techniques offered thus far.
